Surreal Fantasies in Estonian Art

In November, Kumu Documentary holds a series of lectures and a film program, “Surrealism – Sabotage of Reality,” in connection with the exhibition “Sabotaging Reality. Surrealism in European Photographic Art in 1922–1947” in the Kumu Art Museum.

Art historian Sirje Helme talks about the adaptation of surrealism in Estonian art. The lecture treats the issue of the arrival and adaptation of surrealism in Soviet times. The short lecture ends with a documentary treating the life and creation of famous surrealists.
