Louise Bourgeois: The Spider, the Mistress and the Tangerine

The 2008 documentary about Louise Bourgeois deals with a brilliant artist born on Christmas Day 1911. She exhibits her sharp mind and brilliance via astounding witticisms and astute observations on art and life. The film will be screened in the Kumu Contemporary Art Gallery on the 5th floor as part of the public programme linked to the exhibition Anu Põder. Be fragile! Be brave!, in order to create parallels between the oeuvres of two great sculptors of the 20th century. The creative paths of both Anu Põder and Louise Bourgeois are characterised by creative determination, playfulness, and a clear sense of humanity and vulnerability.
