Film-performance about Katja Novitskova’s practice. Premiere

Piibe Kolka’s camera follows artist Katja Novitskova during an intense two-year period of large-scale exhibitions that take her to New York, Hamburg, Venice, and Shanghai. Approaching Katja’s signature photo-sculptures and robotic machines in the spaces they were shown, the film takes a closer look at the unique world the artist has created by combining both documentary and fictional modes of storytelling. For the London premiere, the filmmaker has used her background in anthropology to produce an audiovisual one-person performance that investigates the artist’s installations using pseudo-ethnographic methods.
