Jenny Holzer (born 1950) is an American conceptual artist who works with text as art, focusing on the use of words and ideas in public space. Her diverse art incorporates a wide array of media, but her most notable medium is LED signs. Holzer’s works often deal with violence, oppression, sexuality, feminism, power, war and death. Her main concern is to enlighten, bringing to light something that was meant to remain hidden.
